HEIDI TARVER

Using a technique Heidi Tarver calls Slip Printing, vibrantly stained slips are stenciled onto flat sheets of clay, and later formed into three-dimensional objects. In an era when the unique object has been replaced by mass production and, more recently, digital versions of the material world, this work offers opportunities to reconsider the fundamental human activity of hand-craftsmanship and the power of the singular object.
